May each of you enjoy this special holiday time with your families and friends. Bro. Dale and I send our best wishes to you as we celebrate the beautiful Christmas season. As we hurry to finish our shopping and other activities please take a moment to reflect on this past year, and let us be grateful. Join with us as we ask for special blessings for those who have had a difficult year. May the upcoming 2012 year be filled with love and peace.

• Oct. 29^th Oktoberfest was hosted at the DuBois’. Good food & good fellowship. It was a great time for all J
• Nov. 3^rd was a fun filled Friendship Night. We collected enough items to send 13 boxes to our troops in Afghanistan.
• Nov. 5^th Thanks to the support of our Stars, the members of Queen Esther raised $665 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk-a-thon. A Great Big THANKS to all that donated!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

A  message from the Associate Grand Matron

To the members of Sunnyslope Chapter #47 Oh my goodness!  Where has the time gone?  It is December; which means there is only 8 months before the installation at Grand Chapter.  There is a lot to do.  Sisters Karen, Billee and I had a good site visit at the Sheraton Crescent Hotel to meet with the hotel staff and to discuss the Homecoming Official Visit in April 2013.  The Staff was delightful and they were able to answer many of Karen's questions about the day, so far ahead.  After lunch, we were joined by Sisters Lois Griffin, Barbara Payton, Betty Van Leer and Brother Ken Van Leer, to tour the hotel.  We were able to see the ballroom where we will hold the luncheon and meeting and then tour the entire hotel, where Grand Chapter will be held in August 2013.  It seemed that everyone was pleased with the different venues and the hotel rooms.  It is a beautiful property. 

On a personal note; I will be busy, busy for the next several months and I might be absent or a little more distracted than usual.  Please forgive me if I don't get back quickly with an answer to a phone call or an e-mail.  On top of the planning in Eastern Star, I have just been transferred at work and I am learning a new job!  I am a little tired by the time I get home.  I will be chatting with many of you in the next couple of months and asking you to help Brother Joe Leininger and I and Grand Chapter by serving as a Committee Member.  If you are interested in volunteering for a specific Committee, please contact me and we will try to honor your request.

Worthy Matron – Peggy Haff PM

Happy Holidays from the Officers and Members of Sunnyslope Chapter #47, we join in wishing you all the blessings of the joyful Seasons in your hearts, good thoughts for others and the blessings of happiness, good health to you and yours.  I attended the Jobs’s Daughter’s tea which was very beautiful, pink table cloths, fancy teapots and cups, scones and small cucumber sandwiches.  I had never been to a tea party before.  Out conductress, Sister Barbara Payton, wore a long 1800 dress and hat which made it very special.  We have had two new members come into our Chapter and we are looking forward to knowing them better.  We honored the Past Matrons and Past Patrons where they received kind word and a little package of “home baked cookies”. The Chapter was honored for the good turn out of these past leaders.  I would like to thank Brothers Matt Hinson and  Worthy Patron Doug Steele, for working so hard to get us new “blood” in the Chapter as we do need new active members,  Look forward to greeting each of you in the New Year.
